The Sustainable Singapore
Environmental issue was one of the main concern of the Singaporean government when the country first started out in the mid 20th century. The 1st priminister, therefore, purposed a campaign for Singapore to become a Garden City in 1963 to help solve the environmental problem that the country was facing. From then until now, Singapore has develop to becoming a model city for sustainability.They were able to progress with their plan at a fast rate through having an organized and structured authorities. The main agency that was established in respond to help Singapore achieve their Sustainable Singapore Blueprint goal is the NEA( National Environmental Agency). Though them, Singapore was able to have many agencies work together to reach a common goal .This all led to the many programmes and schemes being created by the agencies. Awards are also given by the agency, awarding the achievement of individual as well as big corporate when they help contribute to the plan to make Singapore a livable and sustainable city.
