WAVES presents CALYPSO BEACH TOUR with NORTHEAST PARTY HOUSE

       POSTER 

          The studio is aimed to design artist-specific and moveable performance architerctures, starting from the study and analysis of the music and personality of one particular artist.

         For my selected performer is Northeast Party HouseThis band are a six piece alternative dance rock band fromMelbourne, Australia. In early 2010 the band began playing from neigborhood backyard and move toward warehouse parties, local venues and quickly gained a following based on their reputation for delivering high energy live shows. Moreover, the freshness of performing live is outstanding and gravitate friends, neigborhoods and stanger to be a part of their parties.

  PLAN & SECTION

        Plan & Section illustrate the variety of space with given the different typology of spaces, mood, atmosphere, hierarchy and activity with both audience and performer has performed in different ways. The drawings also guide audience to understanding the complexity of massive structure and connectivity. More over, the setlists of performer has illustrated through the drawing as a sequence from song to song, stage to stage go along with the massive performing machine

          In this design project, A very huge massive on tour device for this performer is aim to merge all the typology of different venues to provide variety of spaces, mood, tone, frequency and importantly the freshness of perceiving live shows in different perspective and atmosphere. An audience become member of the band, massive architectural structure become a stage with gravitate all the element, object, physical and non-physical tools following the original background context of the performer.

WAVES : SPATIAL DEVIATIONS_NORTHEAST PARTY HOUSE

         
          This drawing illustrate the background of selected band, including hoe the band has been formed. Northeast Party House are a six piece alternative dance rock band from Melbourne, Australia. In early 2010 the band began playing warehouse parties and local venues and quickly gained a following based on their reputation for delivering high energy live shows. 

  
          From the beginning until now, the various factor and context has influence to the band. The drawing show the development and different of aesthetic, art, live show, performing tools that change over time. From backyard with close friend with neighborhood to small local venue then warehouse and finally to the open field festival.

          Sonic experimental and sound analysis illustrate the range in each music which catagorize into 1st and 2nd album (any given weekend & dare). The bpm in each song respond to the heart rate or beat that influence to the performer and audience and how this issue reflect to the space design or stage.

        

          Together with case-study, live music venue Grenswerk, Venlo.  A building emulates a surrounding housing and volumn of the building was base on typology of a warehouse with suit to the scale of the band to performed inside spaces. The characteristic of the building is to express the program and can read from outside. connection is a keys to enhance the experience of a music toward urban fabric. 

          

          First draft of story board follow the story line of Northeast Party House's music video (Heart breaker) which focus on audience perspective from the local neighborhood toward the warehouse party. The sketch illustrate the crowded, light, atmosphere, ornament and object from walking to the main door until the performing has ended.

         Second version of drafting story board by using the same perspective from the local neighborhood but include the machine (possible on tour device) in to the story and illustrate how the crowd interact with machine and how machine gravitate people and neighborhood move toward the machine.
