Transit Orient Development
Chaingmai
financial and Convention centre

From many supports from phase I it can be seen clearly that Chiang mai should be developed to be financial hub of northern part of Thailand for example due to number of flights and people in Chiang mai that increasing year by year, the completion of high speed rail of Thailand that is planned to be finished in 2020 or its own location that is the central of neighbour countries such as Myanmar, Laos and south china.

Research
financial and convention centre

Therefore the area around train station can be considered as the proper place to build financial and convention centre. According to TOD idea around the station should have multi function of building not just 1 type of building so i manage 4 main programs that involve with financial and convention centre which are retail shops near train station, hotels that support large number of people when special events occur, 2 convention centre and financial centre

Plan
financial and convention centre

Every building was built in the same concept to unite the project. The concept of the building is the shape that got influence from landscape of Chiang mai which is highland and mountain then the shape will be stacked vertically to allow more light to get into the building. Entrance was raised to make visitors feel more welcome and friendly to the building and also allow more light to enter in the front. To create more sense of Chiang mai to the building I try to adapt the way local people weave traditional cloth to the roof and facade of the building by perforating them. at the end of each strip it will have more perforated part than in the middle because there are garden and tree under that part so they need more light to grow than living space.
