Overview of the gyroid puzzle composing from 8 unique puzzle pieces
A complete Gyroid surfaces are being constructed from 6 sided part of the cube to create minimal surfaces.
After all 8 were placed, different indication of points on the surface are being test to see which would suit best for the production.
I select the surface with the least number of points and translate them into a production method suitable for CNC.
8 unique pieces of CNC modules are being made for a post production, a vacuum forming process.
After the surface is being vacuum and cut into pieces by dremel, magnetic joints are being attached
on to the edge of each pieces to match with its opposite. Finally, the puzzle will be complete by color coding or additional pattern to help and guide the player on solving the puzzle piece.
Further development of Gyroid puzzle could results into a larger puzzle that is more challenging for the user's experience.
Perturbed edge could also be possible for further development inorder to create a more complex gift for the user who love a more challenging task.
