This first part of the project is to analyse and uderstand a
set of marketplace case studies proposed.
Each individual have to select either a temporary, permanent
in Bangkok and international market. For me, I choose the Bazaar of Isfahan in
Iran as my international market because of it unique form, fuction, and
structure. In Bangkok, I choose shinsen market which is a new modern fish
market in Thailand as my temporary market and choose a Changchui plane market
that using a reuse material as the main material and also have an interesting
oraganisation of the building and program.
After the analysis I realise that every market is not
concern on only the function of selling thing but also concern on the
atmosphere and other fuction of the space inside the market.
Isfahan
Iran
The bazaar of Isfahan is
one of the best-preserved examples of the kind of large, enclosed, and covered
bazaar complex that was typical of most cities in the Muslim world prior to the
20th century. The bazaar is the longest market roof in the world and an
archeologist found that the creation of cities was based on not lonely the
growth of population but also on the increase of product which brought about
the growth of trade. The bazaar was divided in 3 categories which are
permanent, periodical, short time market. The market starts from main entrance
at Naghsh e Jahan which is the new bazaar and old bazaar close to Friday
mosque. The market was also used as the main street in Isfahan and it becomes a
place for meeting people act as the real heart of the city. All part of the
market is vaulted brick roof.
Shinsen market
Bangkok
Shinsen fish market is a new
modern fish market in Bangkok. They to be much more than a
place selling food and we have expressed it via the design of venue that allows
custumers to enjoy their 10 services that operates from morning to midnight
that separate into 2 floor there are live aquamarine, sushi bar, fresh bar,
grill bar and supermarket on the first floor and café restaurant and cooking
school on the second floor. The market is capable of satisfying needs of
diverse urban population such as for a breakfast quick-stop before signing in
for work, for a lunch with client in afternoon, or for learning to cook in free
time. It is diversity that creates unique experience which making Shinsen Fish
Market become an alivestyle market. This fish market also concerns on the
cleanliness and smell of the market so the choose the material that can solve
this problem.
Changchui plane market
Bangkok
Changchui
plane market is a chance for the new generation to use their creativity to use
their creativity in making a living from single mindedness, inspiration,
knowledge and art. ChangChui is a unique setting infused with art. Integral
to its design and philosophy is the ‘Reuse’ concept. For example, teak wood
window frames, massive used glass windows from a shopping mall and empty
perfume bottles from around the world are all put together in a new way and
transformed into a piece of art that is practical and ready to captivate every
eye. When creativity is applied, discarded objects acquire value. Every bit of
ChangChui is therefore created through a mixture of optimism, inspiration and
wisdom. Actually Changchui is roughly translates to “so careless” so, the building
was organized randomly and not following any rule or any of grid pattern.
